AI Upgrades to Pi KYC Accelerate Verification and Unlock Mainnet Migration

Pi Network has integrated advanced AI into its Standard KYC process, accelerating identity verification and helping Pioneers move smoothly toward Mainnet migration. This upgrade leverages the same AI technology used in Pi Fast Track KYC, enhancing both speed and scalability without compromising accuracy.

Faster KYC, Reduced Bottlenecks

The AI-enhanced Standard KYC significantly reduces the queue of applications awaiting human validation—cutting it by nearly 50%. By easing validator-related bottlenecks, the system shortens processing times and helps more Pioneers advance toward Mainnet migration efficiently.

Pi Fast Track KYC, rolled out a few months ago for new Pioneers and non-users, allowed them to obtain a Mainnet wallet and participate in the Pi ecosystem. While Fast Track KYC itself does not enable migration, its underlying AI technology has now been integrated into Standard KYC, unlocking the path for Pioneers to move their balances to Mainnet.

Key Benefits of AI Integration

The AI enhancements provide multiple advantages:

  • Addresses validator shortages in certain regions

  • Speeds up Mainnet migration for more Pioneers

  • Reduces reliance on human validation, conserving the network’s collective human resources

  • Minimizes the information displayed to human validators, while sensitive data remains redacted

The AI is deliberately conservative to prevent false approvals. Cases that require human judgment are automatically routed to validators, maintaining verification accuracy while reducing the risk of false negatives.

Empowering Validators and Expanding Opportunities

While AI handles routine checks, human validators remain critical to maintaining network security and integrity. By freeing up a portion of their workload, validators can focus on new ecosystem opportunities, such as:

  • Providing feedback to improve AI models

  • Participating in reinforcement training of AI systems

  • Supporting other network utilities

This balance ensures validators remain engaged while the system scales efficiently.

A Scalable, Privacy-Oriented KYC Solution

Pi’s AI-enhanced KYC aims to offer accurate, accessible, and privacy-conscious verification for millions of Pioneers worldwide. Beyond Pi, this identity verification system supports external Web3 and AI services that require trusted, verified user identities.

Integrating AI strengthens the network’s long-term vision: a secure, identity-verified blockchain that enables real-world applications, supports ecosystem utilities, and preserves authenticity in decentralized services.

Validator Rewards Distribution Update

Work on distributing rewards to validators is ongoing. The first distribution involves analyzing hundreds of millions of KYC tasks, taking into account:

  • Task volume and complexity

  • Variations in task types and quality

  • Fairness and source of reward funds

  • System scalability to millions of validators

  • Accuracy and security of reward calculations on Mainnet

This system is scheduled for deployment by end of Q1 2026.

Updated KYC and Mainnet Migration Metrics

Recent statistics highlight the impact of the AI-upgraded process:

  • 17.5 million Pioneers have fully passed KYC

  • 15.7 million Pioneers have migrated to Mainnet

About 3 million Tentatively KYC’d Pioneers can self-unblock by completing additional liveness checks in the app. Pioneers who have passed KYC should complete the Mainnet Checklist, including wallet setup, 2FA, and accepting token terms, to finalize migration.

A Milestone for the Pi Community

The millions of fully verified and migrated Pioneers represent a major achievement for the Pi Network. This milestone not only strengthens network security and integrity but also lays the foundation for real-world utilities in Web3 and AI industries. With AI-powered KYC, Pi continues to advance its vision of a scalable, secure, and identity-verified blockchain ecosystem.
